Cycling is one of my passions.

I wasn’t too sure how cycling would turnout in Hong Kong when I arrived in 2015. The busy, narrow roads and steep climbs are not everyone’s idea of a great cycling environment.

But despite this I have kept up the routine and also introduced a few Hong Kong Broadband colleagues to the joys of cycling.

Now a group of us are taking on what we are calling the HKBN “Fast & Generous” Generous Cycling Challenge in Taiwan from May 19 to 23.

Four of us will be cycling to Taiwan’s highest mountain pass – Wulin Mountain – which tops out at 3275 above sea level. (See this link for more details.) Our plan is to ride up this beast over two days from west to east and then cycle down to the east coast of Taiwan.

We have been doing some training over the last few months climbing up Hong Kong’s highest mountain – Tai Mo Shan. It is just on 900m climbing over 10km – so quite a steep journey in itself.

To really motivate us we are raising money for the HKBN Talent Corporate Social Investment fund – a charity run by our company’s talents that supports local HK initiatives for the underprivileged, children, elderly and disabled.
